This event is the second annual "Prayers for the City" sponsored by Mayor Tom Henry.   The event is intended to bring together different segments of our community in prayer, music, etc., for our city.  While we understand that people have different beliefs and practices, and are not trying to ignore the very real differences among us, the Mayor  believes it is worthwhile for different faith and civic leaders to come together.   Representatives of Miami Nation have been invited to share some drumming and/or other expression of faith and spirit.  It is an important opportunity to broaden our experience not only of our history but of the Miami identity today. 

 The Prayers for the City event is:  4 PM, September 14th, University of St. Francis downtown Performing Arts Center, 431 West Berry.  

 You and others are invited to a press conference announcing this event on Wednesday, September 3rd, 11 AM, on the 4th Floor of Citizens Square at the Mayor's Office.
